Love it or hate it, resources are a hot subject right now, and rightfully so. As prices soar across the globe for water/sewer, electric, and gas, the search for more resource friendly processes and equipment has become a major focus, not only across the carwash industry, but everywhere, in general.
We get a lot of questions about how water efficient our equipment is. And, as is our tradition, we love to share real-world numbers and facts to back up our claims. From its design inception, the Accutrac 360-i was made to use much less resources than its competition. Let's take a look at some statistics from a site setup similar to what we suggest.
As you can note, from April 8th 2024 to May 10th 2024, this owner averaged 42 gallons of water per car. This includes RO reject, softener conditioning, and cleaning the bay (this is a single bay site).
At this time, our machine uses less to much less water than any of our touchless competitors. This is due to several factors. Using 2 pumps allows us to vertically profile each car and use the proper amount of water and pressure on the car for the top sprayer in real time as it moves up and down the vehicle. Our vertical profiling also turns on and off the top side sprayer for taller trucks/vans/SUV’s when needed.
We also have our patented and very reliable oscillation system, and use much bigger droplets that impact the vehicle with significantly more mass and inertia than any other machine on the market. Thus, in most cases, we’re cleaning the car with one high pressure pass.
We want to be clear that this isn’t theory or “best case” scenario, but how MANY of our clients set up our machine, as shown from the screen shots above. This is a fairly typical setup for many of our clients.
Bonus Note:
The client above opened his wash exactly 3 years before these stats. Note that he has washed 90,717 vehicles in that time, averaging 30k vehicles per year.

As usual, Tom is always trying to make a great thing better. Recently Petit has sourced thicker, heavier duty “rod ends”. The picture below shows Tom testing our new ends. The result? These new rod ends last 100% longer than the old design. And as usual, they are retrofittable.
We continue to torture test our components in the field, at car washes owned by Tom and his brother, as well as at our test racks in our beautiful 53,000 square foot facility.
We have been featured in July’s Professional Car Wash and Detailing magazine. Link below!
It was wonderful getting to talk directly about how we choose to approach our business every single day, from working to continuously improve our product offering to our commitment to transparency when it comes to sales and promoting those products. Thanks to PC&D for the opportunity to showcase!
Due to several requests and a significant increase in popularity, some of the Petit crew will be heading to Sydney for the Australian Car Wash Show. We will be bringing the same full and moving machine we had at the Nashville ICA.
Additionally Jason has been requested to speak about In-Bay Automatics and will be taking the floor Thursday August 15th 10:41am (Australian Time)…. Keep posted for live streams.
Here are some pictures from a few of our machines in the southern hemisphere… Australia and New Zealand!
As always, thank you for being in the Petit sphere! As we experience all that Australia has too offer and continue to work on creating new innovative equipment, we will keep you updated as soon as we have news to share.
